Accessibility Statement

The Carryforward aims to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. The Site is a good candidate for accessible publishing: it is almost entirely text, served as static pages, with no video, audio, pop-ups, autoplaying media, or interactive widgets that require a mouse.

What we do

• Semantic structure. Pages use proper landmarks, heading hierarchy, lists, and tables so screen readers can navigate by structure.
• Keyboard navigation. Every feature of the Site — including course navigation and the article index — works without a mouse, and a skip-to-content link is provided.
• Readable typography and contrast. Body text targets WCAG AA contrast ratios, uses relative units so browser zoom and font-size settings are respected, and avoids conveying meaning by color alone.
• Descriptive links and labels.Links state their destination rather than “click here,” and citations to statutes and guidance identify what they point to.
• Print-friendly pages. Articles print cleanly, which also serves readers who work best from paper or large-format text.

Known limitations

Some worked examples use tables that are dense by nature; we structure them with headers so they read correctly in assistive technology, but they remain easier to absorb visually. Where a chart appears, the surrounding text states its conclusion so nothing is available only graphically.

Report a barrier

If any part of the Site is difficult or impossible for you to use, tell us at editor@thecarryforward.com with the page address and a description of the problem (and, if relevant, the assistive technology involved). Accessibility reports are treated like corrections: they go to the top of the queue, and we will tell you what we changed.
